This page says what Tellce collects, why, and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@tellce.com and a person will answer.
1. Who we are
Tellce is a website checker at tellce.com, made by TELLCE TECHLABS LLP in Mumbai, India. You can reach us at hello@tellce.com.
2. What we collect
If you join the waitlist: your email address, and your answer to the one question we ask after you sign up, if you choose to answer it. To stop fake signups, we also keep a scrambled code made from your internet address.
If you create an account: your email address, and if you sign in with Google, your name and the link to your Google profile picture.
If you ask us to check a website: the address you typed, and what we find on that website's public pages and the public record of its domain name. We only look at pages anyone can see, and we never change anything on them.
If you check a website and give us your email for the report: your email address, and the list of websites you checked and when. We also note the country a check came from, and whether it came from a phone, a tablet or a computer. We never keep your internet address. To stop misuse, we keep a scrambled code made from it for 7 days.
When you visit tellce.com: simple visit counts. No cookies, and nothing that follows you to other websites.
When something breaks: an error report, so we can fix it. It never includes your email address or your internet address.
3. Google Search Console
If you choose to connect your Google Search Console, Tellce asks Google for read-only access to it. We use it for two things: to show your website's Google search numbers, such as clicks, times shown, position, and the pages and searches people found you with, on your project's Search Console page in Tellce; and, when you ask, to confirm that your Google account owns your website in Search Console.
We never change anything in your Search Console. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. No person at Tellce reads it unless you ask us to, or we must to keep the service secure or to follow the law.
Connecting Search Console is for Pro and Advanced projects. When you connect it to a project, Tellce keeps: Google's read-only key to your Search Console, locked so that only Tellce's own servers can use it; the name of the Search Console property that matches your website, and the level Google gives your account for it, such as owner; and three dates, the day you connected, the day we last checked with Google and, if it happens, the day Google stopped accepting the key. If more than one property matches, we also keep the list of them while you pick one. The choice closes after an hour, and we delete the list and the key within a week.
Tellce also keeps your website's Google search numbers for that property: the totals for each day, for up to 16 months (clicks, times shown, click rate and average position); your top 50 pages and the top 50 searches you showed up for over the last 3 months, with the same four numbers; and when they last updated and when Tellce last tried, and whether that worked. We keep them to show them to you on the project's Search Console page. Each update replaces them. If you connect again with a different property, we delete the old numbers.
We keep the key so we can check with Google each week that your account still owns the website, and to update your numbers after your checks and each week, at most twice a day, without asking you to sign in again. We keep these until you disconnect, or until the project or your account is deleted. If Google stops accepting the key, we delete it and the numbers, and ask you to connect again. If the project is no longer Pro or Advanced, we delete the numbers at once, and the connection and the key within a week.
Tellce only reads. It never changes anything in your Search Console. When you prove you own a website with Search Console, we also keep the name of the property that proved it and the date.
To disconnect, open the project's Search Console page in Tellce and press Disconnect. Tellce stops using the key at once and deletes it and your numbers, and asks Google to remove its access unless another of your projects is still connected to Search Console. You can also remove Tellce's access at Google at any time at myaccount.google.com/linkedapps.
Tellce's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not show ads. We only share it with the companies in section 5, and only so they can do their part.
5. Companies that help us run Tellce
Like most websites, Tellce uses a few trusted companies to host the site, store information, send emails, count visits and tell us when something breaks. Google runs Sign in with Google and our email inbox, and helps with parts of the checks and reports. Each company gets only what it needs for its part.
Where Google helps with a check or a report, we use Google's paid service, so Google does not use that information to improve its own products.
If you would like the full list of these companies, email hello@tellce.com and we will send it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information until you ask us to delete it. To ask, email hello@tellce.com from the address you used and we will delete it within 30 days.
This includes the email you gave us for a report and the list of websites you checked. We keep them until you ask us to remove them: email hello@tellce.com from that address. A check run without an email cannot be linked to you, so it stays only as an anonymous check, with its country and device.
7. Your choices
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@tellce.com.
8. Changes
If we change this page, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your Google data, we will tell you before it happens.
